Workshops 

All our workshops are based on handpicked elements of local culture that we want you to experience. At the MonYul Gathering, you can learn how to: 
  • Cook a traditional Losar feast
  • Make paper from the local papyrus plant 
  • Print your own prayers flag using carved wooden stamps 
  • Weave your own traditional bamboo baskets

Losar

Immerse yourself in the festivities of Losar, the lunar New Year.
  • Watch performances of Monpa epic stories like the Aji Lhamu and the Yak dance,
  • Challenge the locals at archery and wrestling competitions
  • Sip on local brews made from fermented rice and corn
  • Witness a traditional Buddhist village blessing ceremony
